A Lifetime of NH Service
Born and raised in New Hampshire, Kurt Wuelper has spent his adult life in service to our state and our country.
Married for over 40 years to his wife Bethene, Kurt lives in her 200-year-old family homestead. Their son and grandchildren live in Keene. Kurt has served for many years as a Moderator in Strafford, as an officer of his church, and spent eight years serving in the New Hampshire House.
Kurt believes the New Hampshire Advantage is small, frugal government that leaves localities and individuals maximum freedom. The absence of sales and income taxes has been the foundation of one of the most successful and resilient economies in the nation — and made New Hampshire one of the most desirable places in the country to live.
A long-time advocate and champion for the citizen's Right to Know and for Life, Kurt worked hard during his eight years as a State Rep, missing hardly any days or votes. He believes our biggest political problem is the lack of civility — and has always striven to give courtesy and respect to those who disagree with him.
Where I Stand
Transparency & Accountability
People deserve to know what their government does — who, how, and when. New Hampshire's Right to Know law is weak, with no meaningful penalty for offices that deny documents, hold secret meetings, or conceal their activities. Kurt will again champion an oversight position so taxpayers no longer have to sue just to get the information they need.
Fiscal Responsibility
The government that governs best governs least. Frugal government begins with controlling spending — never borrowing for programs and never starting a program without the income to pay for it. In Kurt's eight years as Representative, the state always ran surpluses, returning hundreds of millions to local communities to lower property taxes. He will keep New Hampshire free of any sales or income tax.
Civility & Right to Life
A long-time advocate for Life and for the citizen's Right to Know, Kurt believes our biggest political problem is the loss of civility. He has always given courtesy and respect to those who disagree with him — and will keep bringing that steady, principled leadership to Concord for the people of Strafford County.
Experience That Delivers
Kurt didn't just show up in Concord — he worked. Across eight years in the New Hampshire House, he missed hardly any days or votes, standing watch for the people of Strafford County. As a longtime Moderator and church officer, Kurt has built a reputation for reliability, integrity, and respect.
He knows the difference sound budgeting makes: surpluses that flow back to towns and ease the property tax burden on families. That is the New Hampshire Advantage worth defending — and the record Kurt is proud to run on.
